Humor & Satire
Description
The author recounts their recent experience replacing their old, uncomfortable mattress with a new one, purchased from a lavish furniture outlet called "Hall of the Mattress King." The mattress, which they affectionately nickname "Mount Bed-a-Rest," is incredibly large and comfortable, but also blocks out sunlight, creating a cave-like atmosphere. Despite the initial excitement, the author finds the new mattress's size and comfort come with the unintended consequence of a dark bedroom. The story takes a humorous twist when their old mattress, meant for a "Viking funeral," ends up in a nearby apartment, leading to the author's best night of sleep ever, ironically on their old, discarded bed.
