I was born in Akron, Ohio in 1964, and I grew up between the suburb of Stow and the college town of Kent. My interest in writing started at a very early age, and I had my first professional publication at age 16. Poetry was my original focus, and I was fortunate enough to participate in an early web-based critiquing group called The Alsop Review. In my 20s, I had a number of poems published in literary magazines and poetry websites. I later shifted to humor essays, and I had the honor of seeing my pieces placed inside gourmet coffee cans. I wrote thousands of informative articles for WiseGEEK.com and other content sites. I was also part of the original team for BestReviews, a consumer product review company. Most recently, I wrote Associated Press-level articles for Media Decision and Wealth of Geeks, and I've also started my own publishing company, with 16 titles currently listed on Amazon. I currently live in the Deep South (Alabama), with my wife Amy and our three cats: Natchez, Pippin, and Sir. I'm the organist for a small Methodist church, and in my spare time I enjoy singing karaoke, watching obscure movies, and creating videos .
