Description

Novice Magdalene Ocantu is one of the first women to train for the priesthood in the Order of the Knights of the New Star. Her novitiate has not been without its struggles as there are several men in the cloister who object to her presence. When she is called to the Bishop's cottage one spring morning after her third infraction that month, Magdalene thinks she's about to be thrown out. But no, the Bishop needs her help with a "deep act of conscience" set to coincide with the upcoming G-20 summit. Thing is: this requires Magdalene to collaborate with Brother Phineas, her nemesis, as well as come to terms with her checkered past.
