Description
The Bridge on the River Kwai, a classic war movie, unexpectedly becomes a story about building a bridge, with a comedic and absurd twist. The British soldiers, led by Colonel Nicholson, are more focused on constructing a bridge than surviving their captivity. Their obsession with the bridge becomes a metaphor for the absurdity of war, as these men pour their energy and dedication into a project with seemingly misplaced priorities. Despite the film's unexpected focus, it explores themes of resilience, survival, and the importance of finding humor in the face of adversity. Comparable works include Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)
