Description

Fiction from the Newest Issue of FAT BLACK GIRL IN A WHEELCHAIR #6 Claudia, a CNA at Cloud Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation, finds herself thrust into a whirlwind of media attention when a famous artist, Howard Prentice Wright, dies and the news emerges that he had a long-term relationship with her patient, Minuet Raines. Minuet, a stroke victim who communicates through a smart speaker, is strangely subdued and tearful, revealing that Prentice was her "heart" and that she is grieving his death. Claudia, along with her fellow CNAs, is left to navigate the media frenzy and protect Minuet from unwanted attention, all while trying to understand the complicated relationship between the two. The story explores themes of love, loss, and the nature of privacy in the digital age, weaving together a narrative that is both heartwarming and intriguing.
