Much to Franklin's surprise, Uncle Emmett delivers prints from Franklin's first roll of film the next day. Although Franklin's family are eager to see his very first photographs, he chooses to keep them hidden for the time being. Later that night, when Franklin hides in the closet to take a peek at his pictures, he discovers Uncle Emmett has also written him a letter that he warns Franklin to keep secret. The following afternoon when Franklin crosses over to deliver Avon's portrait, he meets Avon's mother, Dr. Vonetta Moss, a theoretical physicist who reveals more about the mysterious Travelers and the nature of the multiverse. Finally, Avon and Franklin sit under a willow tree to read Uncle Emmett's secret letter and Franklin discovers how his ancestors and the Travelers are intertwined.
