His life has been filled by one adventure after another preferring diversity of challenge to conventional career path. Born into a loveless, physically abusive home he quickly learned to fend for himself. He had his Grammar School education truncated at 16 years of age thus started training as an engineer. Mentors were his guiding angels and quickly encouraged him to move on starting as a Nuclear Physicist at the Atomic Energy Research Establishment, Harwell, UK where, before his 19th birthday he developed the novel x-ray tube that made the CT Scanner possible and for which he was awarded a university scholarship whilst Godfrey Hounsfield at EMI who oversaw the transfer technology to make the first medical CT scanner was awarded a Nobel prize. During the ‘brain drain’ of the mid-1970’s he transitioned into the world of International Banking using his skills with computers and mathematics and from where he developed interest rate arbitrage (resulting in a post-grad in business studies), lead development of the first global intranet (the precursor of the internet) in 1979 and from senior positions in major international banks participated in developing the Global financial village post deregulation of capital movement in 1986 and the breakdown of the USSR. Latterly he concentrated his efforts engaging with novel financing solutions, primarily for projects in developing economies to better the lives of their people. When Stephen’s career as a noted International Investment Banker was truncated by health issues his adventurous spirit turned to writing to fill the down time, both recording his adventures and using fable novels and blogs to comment on his observation of business and social issues in today’s world. He was listed in DeBretts ‘Distinguished People of Today’ in 1988.Writer has not written anything about themselves.
