About the Author
Michael Dozier, PhD, is a conservative talk-show host, political analyst, and member of the Project 21 Black leadership network. A retired Physician Assistant and Forensic Scientist, he has written Shadows of the Streets: Understanding America's Homeless Epidemic, Complexities of Bondage: Black Slave Owners and the Struggle Over Emancipation During the American Civil War, and Embracing Legacy: The Profound Impact of Adoption in the Black Community. He is a United States Army veteran.
He has appeared as a commentator on national television and radio, and has worked in homeland security, emergency management, and humanitarian missions. The arguments in this book follow from the same commitments that run through his earlier work: history without flattery, policy without sentimentality, and a refusal to treat Black adults as people who cannot be asked to keep a promise.
