Secondary English language arts educator, creative writer, and research content writer. Pursuing my M.Ed. in Holocaust & Genocide Studies with Curriculum & Instruction. I write poetry and short fiction, but my most passionate work is in writing creative nonfiction and nonfiction narratives about issues of deep importance to me, specifically upholding human rights, seeking justice and accountability for crimes against humanity, teaching tolerance, and raising awareness for genocide prevention.
I've drafted a project called "Ten Stages of Change," a project for genocide prevention, with 10 in-depth case study articles/blog posts dedicated to one region that has or is currently experiencing genocide and how one of the ten stages outlined by Gregory Stanton in his "Ten Stages of Genocide" framework applies to that specific case study. I include interviews, extensive research, and even archival films, audio, and more to bring the stories of survivors, perpetrators, and victims to life. Finally, each case study concludes with a comprehensive list of actions that are practical, realistic, and can be taken immediately at the local level by individuals to work toward change at every stage.
