About the Author
David Eli Recinos, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and psychotherapist with more than 15 years of experience working in the mental health field. Throughout his career, he has worked with children, adolescents, adults, parents, and families facing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges.
His clinical experience includes working with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, emotional regulation, family conflict, parenting concerns, self-esteem, and other challenges that can affect individuals and families. His approach emphasizes genuine human connection, curiosity, collaboration, personal responsibility, and adapting therapy to the individual rather than expecting the individual to fit a particular therapeutic model.
David is especially passionate about helping therapists look beyond diagnoses and techniques to better understand the person sitting in front of them. He believes that some of the most meaningful moments in therapy begin not with having the perfect answer, but with asking the right question and being willing to truly listen to the response.
He is also the author of A Journey Through Healing, Resilience, and Hope, What About Our Clients? A Guide to Ethical, Client-Centered Psychotherapy, and Why We Stay Stuck (Even When We Want to Change).
Through his writing and clinical work, David hopes to encourage both therapists and clients to approach growth with greater self-awareness, compassion, accountability, and curiosity.
