Writer has not written anything about themselves.Long ago, a wise king decided to test the character and resilience of his people. Under the cover of darkness, he placed a massive, heavy boulder right in the middle of the main trade road leading into the capital. He then hid behind a cluster of trees nearby to observe how travelers would react.
The first to arrive were wealthy merchants and court nobles. Instead of moving the obstruction, they merely walked around it, grumbling loudly. Many openly blamed the king for not maintaining the roads, yet none made the slightest effort to clear the path. Throughout the morning, traveler after traveler passed by, complaining about the inconvenience, venting frustration, and walking away.
Late in the afternoon, a humble peasant came down the road, carrying a heavy basket of vegetables grown from his small farm. When he noticed the boulder blocking the path for everyone, he did not complain or look around for someone else to blame. He set his heavy load on the grass, rolled up his sleeves, and walked up to the stone.
He pushed with all his might. His muscles strained, sweat dripped from his brow, and his hands bruised against the rough surface. Step by painful step, using a fallen branch as a lever, he slowly nudged the enormous rock until it finally rolled into the ditch, clearing the road completely.
Exhausted and catching his breath, the peasant turned back to pick up his vegetables. In the exact spot where the boulder had rested, he noticed a small leather pouch lying on the dirt.
He picked it up and opened it. Inside were twenty pure gold coins along with a parchment note signed by the king:
"The obstacle in your path is not a barrier; it is an invitation. Every difficulty carries within it an opportunity to improve your condition and strengthen your character."
Every obstacle we encounter presents a choice: we can complain about the burden and walk around it, or roll up our sleeves, push through the difficulty, and uncover the growth hidden beneath.
