गांव के किनारे रहने वाला किसान मोहन हर सुबह सूरज निकलने से पहले उठ जाता था। उसकी छोटी सी झोपड़ी, बूढ़ी मां और एक नन्ही बेटी ही उसकी दुनिया थे। बारिश कई सालों से कम हो रही थी, फसल बार-बार खराब हो जाती थी, फिर भी मोहन हार नहीं मानता था। वह रोज मिट्टी को ऐसे संभालता, जैसे मां अपने बच्चे को संभालती है। एक दिन उसकी बेटी ने पूछा, “पापा, क्या हमारी किस्मत भी बदलेगी?” मोहन ने मुस्कुराकर कहा, “मिट्टी कभी मेहनत को खाली नहीं लौटाती।” उस साल मोहन ने नए तरीके से खेती की और दिन-रात मेहनत की। आखिरकार उसकी फसल पूरे गांव में सबसे अच्छी हुई। लोग उसकी तारीफ करने लगे। मोहन ने आसमान की ओर देखा और कहा, “किसान गरीब नहीं होता… उसकी मेहनत ही उसकी सबसे बड़ी दौलत होती है।” 🌾
