Description

In 1284, the quaint town of Hamelin is plunged into chaos when a mysterious plague of rats infests its streets. The greedy mayor, Ulrich, is unable to find any who can rid the town of rats, until the just as sudden and mysterious arrival of a piper in pied clothing. Three disabled boys from town, the lame Arvin, blind Dagobert, and their deaf friend Hans, are among the only ones suspicious of the piper, while the rest of the town is enamored by him. Soon, true to his word, the piper has lured all of the rats away with only his flute. However, when the mayor goes back on his word and greatly underpays the piper, the eccentric stranger leaves the people of Hamelin with an ominous warning: that he will return soon, to collect what he is owed. Unfortunately for the townspeople, what he plans to take means far more to them than anything else... Comparable works include The Pied Piper of Hamelin
