Since time immemorial humans have been a collateral to a great war that has been waged in the shadows. A power tussle between the demons and the witches. Demons of the old were far stronger. Thus the witches created the wolves to guard them against the evil whispers of these demons. When the wolves revolted the witches created the vampires out of their human corpses to bring about the balance. And by doing so they doomed themselves.
