Description

In the remote Himalayan village of Hungung, the allure of yarsagumba, a mysterious and valuable fungus, tempts the narrator and his trekking companions. This half-plant, half-animal, with its rumored magical properties, is said to cure ailments, enhance virility, and boost energy. However, the narrator and others soon experience the dark side of this supposed elixir, suffering intense hallucinations, convulsions, and even near-death experiences. The story weaves together the bizarre effects of the drug, the challenging terrain of Nepal, and the complexities of cultural differences, ultimately leading to a frantic and expensive rescue mission.
