Saving the World with Self Love
Description
Yes, we know patriarchal systems have been damaging our collective experience for a long time. The idea that anyone is superior to another based on a circumstance of their birth - skin color, sex, sexual orientation - is inherently flawed. What's more, even assuming those systems were put in place because of societal norms at the time and NOT a desire to control or manipulate another race or gender or social class, they have kept almost all of us in some version of slavery to the needs of those "above" us: largely wealthy white men. I'm not angry at men. I think they were indoctrinated with these inequitable beliefs without realizing the toxic roots and damaging effects. I AM angry at the way we uphold the system. WE uphold the system - those of us dominated by it. Ultimately, it needs to be fixed. Or, rather, destroyed and then new systems rebuilt. But how can we do that if we aren't activists or community leaders? In this episode of Sex, Love, and the Self, I look at some of the ways we participate in Patriarchal systems and explore ways we can take down the broken patriarchal systems with LOVE. undefined
