Wanted - Part 9
Description
In part 9 of Wanted, an unconscious Marissa lies vulnerable in an isolated room. She's been targeted by Sam Lincoln, a dangerous man working for the McReynolds campaign, and is now caught in a web of intrigue. Tony rescues her from a dangerous situation at a clandestine club, Calloway's, and carries her to a nearby jazz club to wait out the danger. As they discuss their shared experiences, Tony reveals his own painful past, involving his mother's death at the hands of bigoted men. Marissa, deeply affected by Tony's story, starts to trust him. Meanwhile, Mario and Barbara, Marissa's friends, inadvertently make things worse by delivering evidence of political corruption to a local major newspaper. The story culminates with a meeting between Jerome Weathers, a local politician, and Marshall Crenshaw, a wealthy and influential figure. They discuss Marissa's situation and the dangers she faces, ultimately deciding to work together to protect her. DISCLAIMER: This work took place in the 1920s.
