Amelia, the protagonist, suffers from a bizarre and terrifying affliction: she can only see the back of her head in reflections. Despite countless medical visits and psychological evaluations, no explanation is found for her condition. The story follows her struggle with feeling isolated, unseen, and like she doesn't belong in the world. Amelia's frustration mounts as she attempts to fit in, but her reflection always betrays her, culminating in a desperate attempt to end her suffering. However, a surprising turn of events on her 18th birthday awakens her to a world where she is finally visible, but where everyone else is now facing away, creating a sense of new, unsettling isolation.
